BEHIND THE LENS

Before and after graduating from UT Film School, I worked in Film & Television -- ever in search of the "perfect" shot. While that goal remains elusive, much knowledge and experience has been gained along the way.

In 2014 I began real estate photography, videography & aerial work. A portion of the  results from photographing several hundred homes in the central Texas area are displayed on this web site.

For me there are five factors that combine to create great images. Camera/Lens, the Artist's 'Eye', the Subject, Lighting & finally the Post Production Process. In fact, to create HDR images I spend more time in post-production than in gathering the images.

What is HDR? High Dynamic Range. What does that mean? It means simultaneously taking multiple images. Each covering a different dynamic (think light) range, which ultimately means I have tremendous latitude in post-production to create the exact look I'm after. Very often the results can be stunning, but it takes time. It's as much an art as photography. It’s like painting, but instead of paint, it's pixels.
